Serpens Oil
The concoction of the oil was taught to me by a familiar spirit, to girth the belly with serpents of flame and stoke the fire within, to tap into the power beneath the land — the Serpent Power — and enliven icons.
Calling on the Serpent girth the world, I crafted this oil from the sheds of Snakes, Cinnamon, leaves of Laurel, and Gilead's Balm. The song of the Serpent was intoned each time an ingredient was added, half of the sum transformed by flames into a form more fitting, half preserved as vibrant spirits of the Earth.
Calling on Medea and Circe as my ancestors in Pharmakeia, this oil was empowered through chant and ecstasy, pulling the form of the Serpent into it and creating from it the forms of snakes.
